By public transport
From the main station, the Augustiner Museum, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of City History can be reached by taking a tram on line 1 towards Littenweiler as far as the Oberlinden stop.
The Colombischlössle Archaeological Museum is within walking distance from the main station; walk along Eisenbahnstrasse and you will find the Colombi Park on the left side of the street.
Freiburg is right on the A5 between Offenburg and Basel. You can reach the city centre via the “Freiburg-Mitte” exit (62); the B 31a will take you directly to your destination. If you are travelling from the east, you can take the B 31 from the Black Forest to Freiburg. When you reach the city centre follow the parking guidance system.
If you want to visit the Augustiner Museum, Museum of Modern Art, Museum of Natural History or the Museum of City History, it is best to use the “Schlossberg” car park.
The best way to reach the Colombischlössle Archaeological Museum is from the station car park (Bahnhofsgarage).
With the aid of advance direction signs, coaches are guided directly to the bus parking spaces at Karlsplatz and Stadtgarten, which are close to the city centre and within walking distance of the museum.
