KonTiKi’s guiding principles
People, animals, plants... All are part of nature. Using all their senses, children can discover and find out about this belonging at KonTiKi. Their progress and personality development depends, not least, on their natural surroundings.
Their emotional and social competences are promoted by their personal and tactile experiences. They learn about their own capabilities, their own scope for action as well as their own limits. Children can become involved independently at KonTiKi and are given the possibility of being active and creative themselves. They thus learn to act independently with and in nature and the environment.
KonTiKi is a place in which children can experience nature – animals and plants – as something tangibly alive, contributing towards personal orientation and social responsibility for their environment.
