Food and drink in Freiburg

Freiburg has something to offer for every palate and purse. Badisch wines from the Markgräflerland region, the low mountain ranges Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg, and the regions of Breisgau and Ortenau are well known and popular. This is further proof that the holiday region of the Black Forest is rightly considered to be "Germany's most beautiful and enjoyable area."

A tip: Towards the end of April the culinary high season begins. Nearly all restaurants offer "royal vegetables" for two months: asparagus from the Tuniberg region. At best you will get to know all about the preparation of these speciality and the ideal accompaniment: White wine, which is produced close to asparagus fields.
